I've been working out for years, and I do the same things every week. My workout varies in length from day-to-day, but I do basically the same cardio every time: walking. I have bad ankles and knees, so I can run, but I'd like to know ways to mix-up my workout routine. Any suggestions?

Hey, Brandy. I was a runner a few years ago, but I now have bad ankles and knees and can no longer run. There are several different things I do for exercise, thought.

I walk, but I also run, rollerblade, and do yoga. I know yoga doesn't sound like much a workout, but mixing up my more intense cardio with the stretching and toning of yoga helps my joints and also keeps my body on its toes. You can also ride a stationary bike or get a bike and go for rides outside. Exercising outside has the added benefit of all that beautiful nature!

Keep moving!

My wife signed up for Tai Boxing or something like that.

She loved it. She said the workout was hardcore and feels a little more confident about being able to defend herself.

She and several girfriends would do different classes to keep their workouts different.

Perhaps this may also be an option for you. Does your gym offer different classes throughout the week? usually these are complimentary with the memership. If so, you should definitely look into this option.
