I need one. Please, does anyone know if there is a natural cure for panic attacks. They are debilitating me. I can't work, I can't sleep, I can't do anything because I'm afraid of having one.

Michael,

The having a panic attack is one, but having a fear of having a panic attack means that your anxiety is becoming more serious. I'd highly recommend you speak with a therapist who is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

If you are looking for something to treat panic that is non-prescription, take a look at the following links. They are from the 'Wellness Mall' on this website.

1) Hypnotic Tracks for anxiety
2) Healing Panic Program

If you are looking for a natural supplement, take a look at:

Clarocet
Seredyn
Kava Kava (Kule'a Brand)

Also, here is some great research info for a variety of natural herbs that can help:

Herbs and Supplements Information Page
and
Herbs for anxiety and panic

Hope this helps.

Michael,

The first step to making any changes in your life is to reach out for help. You have already taken that first step. Now it's time to find out what these panic attacks are all about.

If you've experienced more than three panic attacks within the span of a month, I would agree with Stefford and say you should see a professional. Getting help in this way is nothing to be ashamed of. However, the fear of having a panic attack can cause an individual to develop a panic disorder, which is significantly more difficult to cope with.

Often, a therapist with training in such things as panic disorder can give us a way of looking at things that breaks the spell and sets us free from our preoccupation. Sometimes, a doctor may also prescribe a medication to aid in your treatment.

Again, this is nothing to be afraid or ashamed of, and you should feel free to express any and all misgivings you might have with your doctor. If you don't feel that way, find a therapist or psychiatrist who you feel comfortable with.

You can try Rescue Remedy spray or lozenges. Also, Square Breathing helps (inhale for the count of 4, hold for the count of 4, exhale for the count of 4. hold for the count of 4, repeat). Practice the Square Breathing throughout the day when you are not stressed. When the time comes that you need it, you will be very much in control. Panic attacks are usually about losing control in a situation.
