i have to throw up sometimes when i have bad anxiety especially before a big test or something like that is this normal?

Matt,

Though it has never happened to me, i believe this is normal to some extent, especially for big events, or rather, events you as an individual percieve as important.

You will often hear people who have anxiety or nervousness about something talk about the 'butterflies in their stomach' , 'their nerves are making them sick', ' I feel nauseated', etc. For some people, it never ends up coming up, but for others, I am sure it does.

Have you ever seen the movie Cutting Edge (hockey player turned figure skater)? Before any big competition, Doug Dorsey (main character) always throws up right before going on the ice. For some reason, remembering that scene in the movie helps me to understand that being nervous before big events is totally normal.

when i was a wee lad, i pooped in my pants on the way to an amusement park..i just got so nervous/excited that it just happened..i don't know wabout throuwing up but i figure if i can poop in my pants from feeling nervous it's surely ok for you to throw up when you feel nervous.

I used to do the same thing when I was in high school and early college. As long as it's a very occasional thing and you are not inducing the vomiting, you should be ok.

Matt,

Although throwing up is normal when we get really nervous....you might want to change this reaction. It's connected to fear of failure.....what will happen if I go blank etc. I use to do that a lot in high school....and I would remember the information after I passed in my test paper.

Since then I studied NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming ) and became a coach & trainer....helping lots of people with similar issues. You really aren't alone on this....lots of people have the same struggle. It may take as little as a couple of hours to clear this up and it will no longer be an issue in your life.

Hope this helps you out.
