My adult daughter has been troubled for years. She has seen several psychiatrists since she was 12/13 but with little success due partly to her inability to truly commit to the therapy but also I think she has never been diagnosed properly. After hours of research I've realized that she has BPD as well as possible bipolar accompanied by bouts of terrible anxiety and fighting off panic attacks and it makes her very short tempered and irritable, affects her ability to get along with people etc. She doesn't have health insurance but if I could find the right person for her to see I'd pay for it if she would just stick to the therapy and perhaps get some medication. I just ache for her and her pain and feel so helpless to do anything about it. Suggestions/resources? She lives in the Charlotte, NC area.

bp is very difficult to diagnose in children as well as many adults. If she has bp the only thing that will help is a Dr. and medication levels and kinds for her. Everyones chemistry is different.Sorry to say you can only do so much if some one doesnt want help. Iven if your thrown a life line you have to pull yourself up too. go out of your area to find a Dr. ask at hospitals etc. good luck it does get better with treatment
