Hello, I am new to the forum. I have been taking Nardil for about 2 1/2 years. It has worked wonders for me better then any other anti depressants I have taken. I have spinal/back problems and have had 19 surgeries including 3 fusions. I have had 3 of those surgeries while taking Nardil. During my last surgery in April 07 they thought I had an PE (pulmonary embolism) come to find out it wasn't but was more then likely caused by the Nardil. I went in for another surgery last week and was 30 mins. away from being cut open when the anesthesiologist came in and refued to work on me since I took nardil and hadn't discontinued it for 2 weeks prior to surgery. He then began to tell me horror stories of people who took Nardil while under anesthetics that died. So, I am now looking for a substitute for Nardil. I have had no luck from my general Dr. and the Dr. who began prescribing me Nardil recently lost his license. (scary!!!) Does anyone know of and substitute for Nardil that has worked for them?
