I have a question and I am hoping someone can help!

I am taking Xanax and paxil for depression and anxiety. Ever since I have started taking this medicine I have been told not to take any cold medicine because it can reverse the effects of my medicine therefore I don't take it but I have been sick for the past week and finally had to take some mucinex. Has anyone else heard this before? and if so what do you take when you are sick? please help. TIA

According to DrugDigest.com there are not interactions with Paxil, Xanax and cold medicines:

However, if your doctor said not to do it, then you shouldn't.

Did the doctor specify the types of cold meds?

Regular OTC, natural alternatives (Like Airborn, etc.) ?

I would imagine you could at least take a vitamin supplement like Centrum or Vitamin C and be ok.
